Goodreads asked Alan Bardos:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Alan Bardos I’m generally inspired by 20th Century events that changed the course of history, or that could have changed the course of history. Which is something I’m planning to explore in my historical fiction series. The first book, The Assassins, is about the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. One of history’s greatest turning points, which happened following a whole comedy of errors and culminated in a world changing tragedy that could easily have been prevented. More details can be found in my blog ‘A Comedy of Errors’. https://www.goodreads.com/author_blog...

I am now working on a novel about the Dardanelles campaign in 1915.
