Hi Jeff, I am absolutely MOVED by the life of Robert Peace and in my opinion, his name will live on because of you. Your book may very well save a lot of lives or "wake up" those that may be in a similar situation. Robert Peace did not die in vain and perhaps God put him on earth for those to learn from his mistakes. My heart breaks for Jackie. Is she still living in Newark. Is there a way to reach her, via email?

Hello and thank you very much for reading and responding to Rob's story, and reaching out with such kind sentiments. It means an awful lot, for real. I'm sorry for the years-long delay in responding to this--I really don't spend time on social websites but am trying to be better as my next book, Show Them You're Good, comes out in August, about young men finishing high school in different neighborhoods and aspiring for college. Jackie is still in Newark, in her home. She is doing well, though this is a really sad time for her as Rob's birthday was yesterday -- he would have been turning 40. She retired a few years ago but still works part time and also helps with food service in the school district. I'm afraid I can't share her email. I hope you understand. Wishing you all the best, sincerely, Jeff

Hi Jeff, we discussed the "The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace....." at our discussion group on 2/21/17. Many interesting questions came up in regards to race, class, wealth, privilege, etc. Lingering questions for me are as follows: 1. Is the scholarship still in effect? Truly a way to honor Mr. Peace and assist a young person. 2. Did Rob's mom receive any financial contribution from the book? Thank You!

A silver lining of this pandemic is that I was finally able to read your beautifully written book about your friend, Rob Peace. I found the book to be so moving and it had such an impact on me that I can't stop thinking about it. There are many ?'s and thoughts, but I really just wanted to thank you, Jeff for sharing Rob's story -- every time someone reads it, Rob lives on touching many lives like he did mine!

I apologize this is not a question, but after reading your book I just have to thank you. I am a college student, a broke one at that when I bought your book. I just wanted to acknowledge like many others the dedication it took to write this book and also the courage you had to have on making this your second book. I just wanted to say thank you for sharing this wonderful story with the world. Are you writing another?
