Goodreads asked Claire Luana:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Claire Luana Set measurable goals for yourself and track them. Writing a novel is like eating a watermelon: you do it one bite at a time.

Don't worry that what you are writing might be too similar to some other story already written. As Anna Quindlen said, "Every story has already been told." The point is, YOU'VE never written that story before. If you write the story you want to write, it will be unique.

Take a long term viewpoint and approach. We are an instant gratification society, and it's easy to get discouraged when you don't see instant results or success. But if you are truly want to be a writer, keep at it. Learn how to do it better. There is no special sauce, only hard work. So do the work, and little by little, you'll get there.
