In terms of my most recently released book -- THE ONLY WOMAN IN THE ROOM -- several years ago, an anthropologist friend mentioned a Golden Age of Hollywood actress who was also an inventor. I added her to my list of incredible historical women about whom I'd like to write, and I dipped into the research about her as I wrote THE OTHER EINSTEIN and CARNEGIE'S MAID. When I learned that the invention at the heart of THE ONLY WOMAN -- created by the famous actress Hedy Lamar -- became the world-changing creation Wi-Fi, I knew I had to write this story. In terms of my upcoming book, LADY CLEMENTINE, which releases next January, I discovered my character when I was knee-deep in WWII research for THE ONLY WOMAN IN THE ROOM, and I kept coming across references to Winston Churchill, who was, of course, instrumental in WWI. I wondered about his wife and her role who were almost never mentioned in the research, and when I dug into the life of Clementine Churchill, her story was more incredible that I could have imagined -- spurring on my next book, LADY CLEMENTINE.

Marie Benedict:
hello Marie, I have read all your books and currently I am reading The Other Einstein. And I have been doing some research on religion. I learned that Albert Einstein was an agnostic, but I could not find anything about Mileva's religion. By chance: is there anyway to know?

Oh, will you take some more woman as an addendum to my "suggested female heroes"? https://www.mentalfloss.com/article/67905/9-women-who-helped-win-american-revolution All of these women astound me...not because they demonstrated true courage against the enemy British, but their because of their courageous defiance of social convention.

Hello, I, Gwendolyn, would like to say, that even though you are an author that I have just found in a list of historical literature writers, I could help but wonder if you had ever read the book, "Passing," by Nella Larsen? Congratulations on your new book.
