Goodreads asked Alina Stefanescu:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Alina Stefanescu I don't experience writer's block so much as the limitations of a 24-hour day in which all the words that needed writing got set aside for dinner, family, friendship, a sapling, the mundane marvels of life. If I get stuck in a story, I shelve it and tend new poems. Or work on the novel.

As a scab-picker and scar-lover, my body is a treasure of possible stories and stanzas. Find a scab and pick it for a pulse. Write the way a world changes a body. Seek context. Sketch a family. Breath into the blood of our fathers drying into scabs on our knees. Explore what we supplicate-- and how it stains us. There is so much to discover in the flesh of a familiar body. The ache may be your own.
