As mentioned in Blue Vigilante, the book started with an assignment I had in my English class at the time. But the original, bare-boned idea was that everything took place in Gotham City and she partnered with Batman. I was young and soon realized that copyright was a thing. But you can still see the influence of Batman throughout the story.
