The collapse of the anthropocene is a theme in your works, but they also hold out potential for a transformed human agency. Grotesque shifts still leave behind a residue of the human. Annihilation is on this track with the biologist's contamination. Do these transformations relate to your sense of human (d)evolution? What is gained or lost by leaving behind individual consciousness for something more rhizomatic?

In your first "Steampunk Anthology", you included what I'd term more traditional content, what one would expect from a steampunk story. Your second volume contained more varied topics representing the evolution of this genre. Are you going to produce another anthology (steampunk or otherwise)? What criteria do you use when selecting stories for an anthology?

Do you think you will return to this world you've created once the Southern Reach trilogy is over? Are there more stories you'd like to tell, perhaps as short stories or extra notes? Although I enjoy unanswered questions and ambiguity it would interesting to read more about this world.
