Goodreads asked Peter Jarrette:

How do you get inspired to write?

Peter Jarrette I created and had published a cartoon strip in NYC in the 80's so I'm not new to telling stories and fabricating amusing/dramatic storylines. An early friendship with Sex and The City author Candace Bushnell landed us both contracts to write and have published children's books with Little Simon/Simon & Schuster. They, mine (a series of four activity rhyming readers) sold widely around the world into two or three editions in the end I think, hard back and soft cover. My career expanded into arts as a trained Parsons Art & Design student in Manhattan and I went on to work internationally in all disciplines. This gave me exciting stories of people/travel and cultures which, again on Candace's suggestion, I decided to remember in stories. I wrote my first manuscript 'Young and Pretty New York City (making editors rounds in the USA) and several more. To make a very long story short, I had a trilogy in the end with my first published book 'Brighton Babylon' (Dynasty Press Ltd) actually being the last book in the trilogy.
