Goodreads asked Leo E. Walsh:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Leo E. Walsh Just write. Often, something good emerges.

If that fails, I read. A lot. Fiction -- from literary to pulp. And non-fiction, mostly science, cognitive science, philosophy and history. I even dip into New-Age spirituality books every now and again. Not because I believe in New Age, but they do tend to look at normal things through a slightly-skewed, new perspective. That wide-range often unblocks me.

If reading fails to spark me, l blog at the Daily Kos, focusing on wonky, numeric analysis (click for an example). Which is so different and yet still writing that when I return to the fiction, my pallet's been cleansed.
