Terry Pearson asked Jacob M. Appel:

Dr. Appel Your education is quite impressive. As a practicing physician, where do you find the time to write? Thank you.

Jacob M. Appel You have to keep in mind that I'm a psychiatrist -- as my family says, "almost a real doctor" -- so my schedule is much more flexible than if I were a surgeon.

I do a lot of writing at the nursing stations at the hospital. And I am not alone. When you visit a hospital and see all those doctors typing away, you might think they're completing notes in patient charts....but many are actually working on novels. I'm not sure what this says about healthcare.
