How do you choose the names for your characters ?

Christina Dodd Since I currently write about Virtue Falls on the Pacific coast in WA, I use the (brace yourself) local cemetery records to grab names that are prevalent in the area. I'll take a first name from one burial and a last name from another. I know it seems odd, but to me it makes sense to add reality to the stories.

If I need ethnic names, I look on Wikipedia for most popular names in different countries. Hope that helps!
