Kristy, I grew up in the 80's and 90's and in college became a part of a vocal and aggressive Pentecostal church. I heard a lot about the rapture and saw the idea become very familiar to those outside the church due to successful promotion by believers. What led you to want to write about this subject?

This is a good question. I had a few friends in high school who were pretty convinced the rapture was imminent and I began to believe it too for a little while. After that, I just kept meeting people who all seemed to want the rapture to happen so eagerly, that I began imagining how it would work if someone tried to fake it. So this idea had been germinating for years, before I finally sat down and began writing how I could envision it happening.
