Hi, Michael. I was wondering: are you looking at a one- or two-per-year release time frame for Legends of the First Empire? Thanks, and Elan is--at the very least--tied for my favorite mythos.

Michael J. Sullivan Hey Jedidiah, The release schedule isn't determined by me, it's set by the publisher Del Rey. They have signed the first three books of the series (so far) and I believe the intention is to put them out on one year intervals (each summer). I say "believe" as the release schedule has not been set for book #3 yet, but based on some text in Age of Myth it looks like they plan for Age of Swords to come out in the summer of 2017.

I'm honored to have Elan be one of your favorite mythos - but of course I have to ask, what is the other one?

Hi Michael :) As a mythology-buff, I wanted to ask a few questions about the gods of Elan. Were you inspired by any mythologies when you made the creation story and deities, did you simply develop it to fit the story or was it primarily based on the redemption theme the Riyria books have? And, if it’s not considered some sort of spoiler, did Erebus ever manage to collect all the feathers and be forgiven by Muriel?

I cannot tell you how much I love Riyria! (Chronicles and Revelations). I discovered them -Aug 2018 - I read them in publishing order. I just finished them again this Oct and am into the Chronicles for the 2nd time today. It is just enough time between that I remember enough to stay with it and still be surprised and overwhelmed.Your books have so much emotion in them! I waver from Royce to Hadrian but go with H?
