Hi Mr Hawkins! Any idea if your book will be translated in French? I work as a librarian and I recommended your book to a patron who, sadly, can't read english. I was wondering if in the near future I'll be able to acquire a french version for my public library? Thank you!
Scott Hawkins
Yes! The French rights sold on April 25th! Unfortunately, I have no idea at all how long it will be before it shows up in bookstores.
It would be hard to overstate just how far removed I am from the process of rights sales. (Which is fine by me.) Literally my only involvement is when I get an email at the end of the process saying that one of the fine folks at Crown just sold thus-and-such right to so-and-so in some distant land. I write back and say "that's excellent news!" -- which it is -- and that's the end of it.
The foreign edition covers are fun, though.

I just have to tell you that this book absolutely blew me away. I'm a librarian, so I read a lot of books. To contrast that, I'm a mom of 3 young boys who works full time, so it generally takes me a lot longer than it used to. I could not put your book down. Ignored my husband, ignored the kids, read it while I ate... got through it in one weekend. It is probably one of my all-time favorites in modern literature?

So, I read Library a while back and fell in love with it. Then later discovered the audiobook and have listened to that more than a few times in subsequent years (it's easier to "read" when I can listen and do other things at work!). I'm wondering how do you feel that Hillary Huber did in bringing the story to life and giving voice to characters? Especially Carolyn?
