How do you deal with writer’s block?

Jeff Haws The best way to kill writer's block forever is to do what I did, which is cover sports (particularly high school football on very tight deadlines) for the media for a decade-ish. Tell your editor you can't meet deadline because you have writer's block. He'll laugh and tell you to shove your writer's block up your ass. To a journalist, there's no such thing as writer's block, because there simply can't be. I still have that attitude.
