Simon Gervais Hi Samuel,

I apologize for taking so long to reply. Your question is an excellent one! As I'm sure you already know, I'm a former police officer with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. We're the main federal law enforcement agency here in Canada. The RCMP is like the United States Secret Service, the FBI, the ATF and the DEA all in one. Having said that, all of us "Mounties" consider ourselves police officers first and foremost. We're The Thin Blue Line. This is where I got my title from. Since my main protagonist Mike Walton is a former cop, I thought I could you use this reference. I changed Blue for Black not only because his work with the International Market Stabilization Institute —IMSI— isn't sanctioned but also because it does indeed play with the moral lines Mike and Lisa Walton will need to cross to achieve their objective.

If you loved my debut, I invite you to read A LONG GRAY LINE and to pre-order my upcoming thriller A RED DOTTED LINE for a chance at winning a trip for two to The Bahamas!!

Warmest,
Simon
