Hi, Michael. I noticed while listening to Death of Dulgath and now while listening to Age of Myth that some of your scenery descriptions remind me of Ireland. Also, some of your place and character names are reminiscent of ancient Ireland (Nog, Meav). I recall that in Revelations you had a king named Ethlred. My question is, are you a British Isles history buff, and have you perhaps taken a trip over there?
Michael J. Sullivan
Hey Noah, I am a bit of a history buff and read about a lot of cultures all over the world. It really helps to provide inspiration. I've not yet been to the British Isles, but it is definitely on the bucket list. I have a lot of relatives who still live in Ireland (a few of them came to my wedding), so at least in that part of the world all I really need to do is show up and I'll be well taken care of with places to stay, great food, and of course plenty of "real" Guinness. Next year we are going on a Rhine River Cruise that will take us through a number of European countries. I'm hoping that the year after that will be to England, Ireland, Wales, and Scotland. Here's hoping.

If the Riyria books are made into a TV series, if given the choice, would you prefer that you: A) are the main screenwriter yourself and write or co-write all the episodes, and thus make sure your books are adapted on screen the best way they can be (but it's very time-consuming), or B) let someone else adapt your source material for TV, much like Benioff and Weiss are doing it with GRRM's books for "Game of Thrones"?

Dear Michael, I am currently reading Age of Death (of The Legends of the First Empire) and I am loving it. I can't wait to find out what happens next but I also don't want to finish the series. I remember you wrote a blog about the "soundtracks" of The Riyria Revelations. Do you have a special playlist for The Legends of the First Empire that you could share with us? Thank you, All the best, Ana

Hi Michael. My question is, will there ever be a continuation of Raithe and Persephone's relationship? I know you stated that it was never your intention to make them the center plot point. I'm sure I speak for many of your fans when we say we were enamored and truly engrossed in their love. I know I came close to tears a few times. Would you ever consider a short story or novella?
