Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

LynDee Walker Small Town Spin grew from the setting. A dear friend of mine grew up on a bitsy island in the Chesapeake Bay, and it’s such a beautiful place. I wanted Nichelle to go there. But it would take a big story—and maybe a personal connection—to get a crime reporter from Richmond all the way out to Tidewater to cover something. So a friend asks her for a favor, which turns out to be helping to control spin on a huge story.

I had a blast poking around the island and the county researching this book, and I hope readers love Mathews as much as I do.
