Hi Khadijah. First of all, thank you so much for writing to me, and I'm delighted you enjoyed the book. Thanks for your questions. I wanted to highlight the issue of child slavery in The Castle, and in my research I discovered that some of the young people at risk come from the area around the Indian Ocean, so I chose to write about them. I did as much research as I could to get the language right, so I'm pleased you think I did. Although I'm Catholic myself, I have great respect for Islam and was pleased to include the religion in the book, as I don't think it features often enough in children's literature in the UK. Are you planning to turn The Look into a series? I adored it when I read it earlier this year, it was hilarious and had a really compelling plot but was also quite moving. It had me engrossed from page one and after I finished I really wanted to read another book continuing the story but was upset when I found out there wasn't, so I'd love to read a possible book 2 but thank you for creating this wonderful book anyway
