You have two options for getting ahead: work hard at your craft, or dispose of the thousands of writers ahead of you. The latter option comes with a pharmacy receipt-length list of problems, and it turns out it's actually a lot more work than just writing some good books. So definitely go with option A: working hard at your craft.
