How do you get inspired to write?

Jennie Ensor Visiting new places or ones I don't go to much is a sure-fire way of getting inspiration - and a great excuse to go travelling :) I stay in a house in the mountains a few times a year, which used to be very remote before we got broadband. It has inspired dozens of poems. It's wonderfully relaxing and creative mood inducing to sit out in the garden in the shade of the Albezia tree in summer, listening to the stream gurgling and church bells striking every hour (also cow bells occasionally). Must go there again soon...
