Goodreads asked Ria Fritz:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Ria Fritz Take feedback. That doesn't mean you should listen to every single piece of criticism you ever receive, but at least meditate on it for a minute. If you can't make sense of it, reach out to someone else and ask their honest opinion. Your readers can often articulate what's "off" about your writing, even if they don't have formal training in editing or literature. (Of course, you can never replace the help of a good editor, but listen to your beta-readers and friends if they have something to say!)
