Amy Lillard I have a recipe on my website for Apple Crisp that is credited as being Amish and it's delicious! And my Amish friend made a fantastic tomato pie when I was visiting one time. But Amish recipes are sort of like Amish proverbs. Watch out because you can find Amish recipes for about everything from lasagna to enchiladas. In my opinion, the only truly Amish recipe is yumasetti which in truth is very much like the goulash my mother made when we were growing up. You know, ground beef and noodles. And then there are soft pretzels. Did you know that the Amish are credited for bringing pretzels to America? Perhaps that is the true Amish food...?
