Amy Lillard In all my travels among the Amish and all the Amish people I have talked to, not one have known what an Amish proverb is. So I'm really not certain where the idea of Amish proverbs came from. I've even seen some sayings of wisdom that were pegged as Amish proverbs but credited to Ben Franklin. Last time I checked, ol' Ben wasn't Amish. But, as far as the sayings themselves go, my favorite is Plow with the horse you have. Though I have to admit it sounds like something my own poppaw would have said. And he wasn't Amish either! :)
