Goodreads asked Kay Doherty:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Kay Doherty I switch up the medium. If I'm writing on the laptop and hit writer's block, I'll switch to pen and paper to get things flowing again. Sometimes I'll completely change the project I'm working on and put the one that's blocked to the side for a bit. Changing what I'm thinking about or how I'm thinking about it, will loosen up the ideas. I always have more than one project going so I'm never completely blocked. There's usually at least one I can write on. If not, if I'm just tired and need a break, I read.
