What made you choose to set Wells Landing in the state you did?

Amy Lillard Wells Landing is set in Oklahoma for a couple of reasons. First, it's the state I now call home and secondly its location is the same as that of Chouteau where Oklahoma has an Amish community. Both reasons made it easy and logical to set Wells Landing here. :)
