What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Marie Marquardt I'm fascinated by the ways that we humans interact! I've always payed close attention to people in random places - at the grocery store, in a coffee shop, in line at the post office, in the airport (airports are incredible for people-watching!). Now, I sort-of have a reason to do all of this, since I need these subtle details if I want to make the relationships in my stories feel real. In other words: being a writer is a great excuse for strange, mildly socially unacceptable behavior.
