Goodreads asked Caro Kinkead:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Caro Kinkead My first reaction is to try to power through past the block. I'll work on another scene or noodle on an idea for an upcoming book. If that doesn't work, I'll get away from the keyboard and knit or watch a movie. In other words, stop my conscious mind from focusing on the problem and let the subconscious whirl away at it.

But I do believe there are times where you can be not so much blocked as empty. Writers need to feed the creative well, and there are times I forget to do that. Then, all I can do is walk away from the keyboard and binge on the first three seasons of "Gilmore Girls" until I feel better. Within a day, I'm usually back with something I can work on.
