I'm curious about the larger repercussions of your Parasol universe, especially as time shifts toward modern times. Would WWI and WWII be different affairs with possibly different outcomes? Was Finishing School revived for the WWs? Would the Empire last longer and/or be more integrated and progressive? Does the USA ever become less anti-supernatural? Is Marine Biology a current-times part of the Parasol universe?

What a prescient comment. I'm working on a contemporary set m/m paranormal romance at the moment that is set in the San Francisco Bay area and could, if you want to think abotu it that way, be the future of the Parasolverse.
I'm a bit of a rebound theorist. That is to say, in my universe the past has a way of resetting itself to this present. Or as close as it can get. That's why I didn't tinker with any major historical occurrences, just reexplained how they existed given the presence of shifters and such.
So my answer is, WWI and WWII would both still occur, with similar outcomes, but changes within, and experiments and use of shifters and so forth that basically reset the universe. In fact, there is a major seed change event in WWI that is kind of the background for this new book.
And I'll leave it there, enough rambling.
