A Goodreads user asked Leonie Rogers:

Hi Leonie Do you write a detailed plot outline before you start your novel, or do you leave it up to the picture in your mind to lead you to the conclusion? Thanks, Jan

Leonie Rogers Hi Jay,

I'm not a detailed plotter. It sounds a bit weird, but from the picture in my head, I know the beginning, and where I'm going to end up, and generally I have a fair idea what needs to happen somewhere along the way.

Then I start writing - sequentially. Most of what needs to happen is a bit like a movie unrolling inside my brain :) Occasionally I might sketch out a brief outline if I think I might need to make sure certain things happen in sequence, but it's only an occasional thing.
