Goodreads asked E.A.B.:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

E.A.B. If I go to sit in front of my laptop and the words aren't flowing right, I read. I will close my laptop and take a three or four day hiatus to read a 150k word fanfiction about LOTR, or a new novel that I haven't had a chance to get to. Reading is like using oil to loosen the writing gears in my head. It's interactive. A great way to learn how to formulate a story is to read. Need to build your vocab? Read. Not sure how to build a character? Read. Bored out of your mind? READ. READ. READ.
