Goodreads asked Eric T. Knight:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Eric T. Knight Write because you love to write, not for popularity, book sales, reviewers or anything else. Every time I start spending too much time focusing on how others will like my work and how come this isn't selling, etc, it just makes me feel bad. When I started writing, I told myself I would only ever do it as long as I enjoyed it. The minute I didn't enjoy it I would quit. First and foremost, I write to make me happy. If other people like it, if it sells, that's just gravy.
