Dear Ms. Kelly, I really enjoyed The Lilac Girls - so much that once I finished reading it the 1st time, I actually read it again, to make sure I understood the whole novel. It's one of the best books I've read about the Holocaust! Can recommend books that are similar to yours? Also, when will your next book be released? Thank You, Shelly

Hi Shelly,
I'm so glad you enjoyed Lilac Girls! There are so many good books out there set in WWII--have you read Alyson Richman's The Velvet Hours or Karolina's Twins by Ronald Balson? Irena's Children: The Extraordinary Story of the Woman Who Saved 2,500 Children from the Warsaw Ghetto
by Tilar J. Mazzeo (non-fiction)? Also The Nightingale and All The Light We Cannot See if you have not read those.
My next book comes out in 2018, in the meantime, the Lilac Girls paperback comes out this March. Thanks for your question!

I just finished reading Lilac Girls and have to say it was an amazing and powerful book. I am especially appreciative of your "Author's Notes". Thank you for sharing so much about what went into writing this book, the true stories and your inspirations for characters...it causes one to appreciate the story even more. Well done!! I am elated that you are writing a prequel to Lilac Girls. When can we expect to it?

I listened to your book on CD's and loved it. For me hearing the 3 distinct voices really brought the story to life and differentiated the 3 women. I have chosen your book for our May book discussion. I was wondering if you would consider writing a short note for me to read at our book group? My email address is rstaveness@manitowoc.org. I work at the Manitowoc Public Library in Wisconsin. Thank you, Roxanne

I wrote to you a few months ago. Lilac Girls was one of my favorite books of all time. You mentioned you were in the process of writing a new book. Is it almost finished? I am hoping you might consider gifting me a copy of it when it is complete and in exchange I would be honored to write a review on goodreads or amazon. Is this possible? Marilyn Kurtis
