I absolutely loved reading Ghost Bride. The setting of colonial-era Malaysia was utterly captivating. I’m from the region myself. The colonial times can be, well, emotionally stirring, but you have done something truly unique with this one. I really hope you write a sequel to the novel. Until then, can you perhaps recommend fans other books like Ghost Bride, in the sense of the setting and the mythology?

Hi Max,
Thank you for your lovely encouragement! How nice to hear from a fellow SE Asian :) I've been busy working on novel #2 (not a sequel, I'm afraid, but a murder mystery set in 1930s colonial Malaya), but I hope you'll enjoy it as well. In terms of other books with the same mythology, Lisa See's Peony in Love is also set in the Chinese afterlife, though in China and not in Malaysia. Another book that I enjoyed reading as a collection of Asian ghost stories (set in Japan however), is Miyuki Miyabe's Apparitions: Ghosts of Old Edo.
Hope that helps, and best wishes!

I absolutely loved "The Ghost Bride", and have have re-read it many times now. I keep checking to see when you have released another book, when might it come? I love your writing. Your book has gotten me through many hospital nights with my baby son. Looking forward to reading your next novel - and Yes I really am intrigued by the idea of a sequel to The Ghost Bride - life with a dragon. :)

I finished reading The ghost bride and just loved it. You really surprised me with the book's plot, was wondering if you will write more about Li Lan and Er Lang? I think it will be good to know more about Er Lang and his family, who he says is worse than the family Lim and it would also be nice to see a little more of Li Lan and Er Lang together. I look forward to more books.

Oh my giddy aunt! I was rather despondent when I finished The Ghost Bride and realized you didn't have any other books for me to devour in one sitting (and finish in the wee hours of the morning-sleep is for weaklings). I'm sure you get asked this at every turn, but please tell me you have more books coming out...soon.
