Goodreads asked Benjamin Riggs:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Benjamin Riggs I pick a topic and start writing stream of conscious. Initally, I'm just writing. It might be disjointed, incoherent babble, but I keep writing for about 10-15 minutes. Then I go back and read through it, trying to identify the main point I want to focus on. Then I start organizing the article, chapter, or whatever around that point. Then I go through it a couple of more time to clean it up.
I should, however, add that often this is a grueling process and I hate it in the beginning. It seems stupid and feels like it's going nowhere. So keeping at it is an important part of the process. Persistence overcomes writers block.
