Andrew Ordover
The basic idea for "The Cat Came Back" came from a story I wrote all the way back in high school--long before I wrote "Cool for Cats" or even thought of my jazz-playing investigaor. I realized that the drugs-in-school mystery I had written about (badly!) a long time ago could easily become Jordy's next case, with the original main character fading a bit into the background.
