Jim Gialamas asked L.B. Holding:

Hi LB, I don't have a question, but wanted to say thanks for liking my review of the Robert Caro book. You might remember it as a common thing to see on Allegheny's campus. It brought back memories as I read it. Separately, your read-book count is very impressive. Is the publishing industry grateful? Best, Jim

L.B. Holding Jim! I don't remember Caro's book from AC, but then I don't remember quite a bit these days, lol. I do remember you not being as good a writer as you are now, though, and when you review a book, I am glued to it. What happened with the book you wrote, the one with the misogynistic protagonist, the one Wiley read? And what's going on with your play? There is a play, right? Or is this my warped imagination playing games with my memory again?

And yes, I do tend to worship at the feet of the library and bookstore. Goodreads has helped me winnow my reading; I've found people, now virtual "friends" who read like me, and who save me hours/days of plowing through bad books. (There's a touch of OCD in me that doesn't allow me to abandon a book, so I grit my teeth and keep reading, no matter how miserable I am. Who needs that?)

I am enjoying your posts on FB and wish I were as brave as you. My Republican friends and I are like cats, not yet striking out at each other but definitely arching our backs and hissing. Remember Faithie? Kurt's Sophomore flame? She's as MAGA as it gets, and I'm terrified of an upcoming fall weekend with her and other AC friends. She is passionate about all things Project 2025 and I fear I might lose her forever come October.

I don't like that one guy on your feed at all. The one who calls you Jimmy. I hiss at him from afar.
