Goodreads asked Genevieve Iseult Eldredge:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Genevieve Iseult Eldredge I find that by writing every day, I don't really get writer's block. However, when I feel I've written all I can, I go deeper into my characters. I try to break down their goals, motivations, conflicts, and emotions into universal feelings. What do they want? Why do they want it? What's keeping them from getting it? What's at stake? Why should the reader care? No one wakes up in the morning and says, "I'm going to save the world!" Often, the quest to save the world starts from a universal feeling/need inside that character--the need to belong, to have a family, to get revenge, to be accepted, to find oneself, to impress a girl, to find love, etc.
