Goodreads asked Scott Miller:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Scott Miller The great Ray Bradbury kept a sign over his typewriter that simply said, “Don’t Think.” That’s outstanding advice. The worst thing a writer can do is to sit down without first having a clear idea of what to say. Long walks and bike rides, when you deliberately don’t think about writing, provide the best inspiration. I find that ideas, even for small things like how to arrange paragraphs or where to use a really good anecdote, just pop into my head when I’m not thinking about the book at all.
