Are your stories influenced by reading Welsh writing in English? If so, which novels helped shape the community of Llanparc?

Hi Alice
I've (To my shame ) only fairly recently started reading Welsh writing in English. The community of Llanparc was I suppose based on living in a small Welsh town more than anything else. At school there we did read some R.S. Thomas poetry but I don't recall any Welsh novels being part of the curriculum.
There are some great contemporary Welsh writers out there. Cynan Jones for example, his first novel The Long Dry was really fine.
