What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Amelia Judd To me the best part about being a writer is also the hardest part—having a flexible schedule. If one of my kiddos is playing in a soccer tournament or a piano recital, I’m there. I don’t have to request time off for family vacations, snow days, or daytime school events. On the flip side, it’s incredibly easy to abuse a self-enforced schedule. Like so many things in life, the tough part is finding and maintaining a healthy balance. Some days I’m successful at it, other days… not so much!
