How do you get inspired to write?

Michael Finocchiaro I had a coach that told me, "just write the first chapter!" and for the first time, rather than facing writer's constipation at the sight of a blank piece of paper, I hammered at it and suddenly my characters Gramble, Samuel and Zoe came alive in my head and wrote the book for me!
