I think Nora Roberts does a great job creating strong relationships in her book. I like Nate & Meg from Northern Lights. I also like Dillon & Lacy from Catherine Coulter's FBI series. I have to include Frank Bama & Trevor Cane From Buffett's Where is Joe Merchant.
All three write characters with depth, flaws, and attitude. And don't forget a little sarcastic humor.
