I recently finished listening to the Guest Room. It opened my eyes to the world of sex slavery. When you just see the words in writing it doesn't have the impact as actually giving the girls names and making them real people with a real life history. You have been giving names and faces to the suffering that the Armenian people have gone through. Does it help you to bring this to the world?

Thank you, Rita.
The short answer is yes.
The longer answer is that at mid-life it has become important to me to focus on issues that are meaningful -- to be part of things that transcend the individual.
And certainly the rediscovery of my Armenian DNA is a part of that.
Fingers crossed my work never disappoints you.

Hello Chris, My bookclub will be discussing The Sandcastle Girls in January. I was wondering in you have any background you could share, such as why you wrote the book and what parts of this book are most personal to you, as a person of Armenian descent? We are a group of 50 - 80 year old women, who have been reading books together here in Houston, TX since 1994. Thanks, Gwen

Hi Chris, I am a Goodreads Friend and have read many of your books. I am a member of Friends of the Needham Library in Needham, MA. In addition to many other things, we arrange for programs for the library. We are looking forward to planning during this season of mainly Zoom encounters. Would you consider speaking at a program with us? If so, I would appreciate a more private method for correspondence. Suggestions?

No question, just a thank you for being such a great writer. I finished "The Guest Room" today and loved it . I could not put this book down. Did not want to go to bed during my reading. But now I am disappointed that I have already read it & have to wait a long time before you have another book for me. I guess I will go back to some of your others novels & reread again?
