Wow. This took me completely by surprise. I never really thought about it, but I think I'd have to say Cutter and Leetah from Wendy & Richard Pini's Elfquest. I love the cultural separation between the Wolfriders and the Sun Folk, and how their love overcomes it, uniting not just them, but their tribes.
This theme is repeated between Tyldak and Dewshine, and is equally moving there.

Since the "Scared Throne" series is made up of shorter novels/novellas, will there be a compiled version after the trilogy is finished? I know that "Murderbot Diaries" is releasing a compiled version sometime soon and wanted to know if you or your publisher had any interest in doing the same?

Do you get backlash about the positions your characters take? I was Army, and I know the second I deviated from the current jingoist/nationalist rhetoric and suggested it was okay to question our military actions, "we support the troops" was no longer applicable. Surprisingly, it is usually from the conservative never-served bunch more than former military who can actually relate. Do you ever get backlash like that?
