Those old enough to have been around during the 60s likely not only love the Beatles but many of us still remember the terrific TV series, The Avengers. The spy-fi featured John Steed, secret agent working for British Intelligence, and his sexy partner Emma Peel. To call them “a couple” is stretching things a bit, but the romantic tension between the two amid many quirky crime-solving adventures was always present, even if only between the lines and the coy smiles.
