Louis and Lestat from Interview with a Vampire. Why? Although I do write about vampires I have no love for them. I find them to be narcissistic, cruel and self-serving. (I suppose that you could be little else if you literally had to murder people to live). And I think that both Louis and Lestat get these attributes across so well. A twisted and abusive relationship that manages to last for over a century. Dark, desperate and, ultimately, doomed – Louis and Lestat’s relationship makes for hypnotic reading. Not the happiest but definitely my favorite fictional couple.
