Marilyn asked Sylvain Reynard:

Hi, Favorite Author of Mine! You have motivated me to delve into other literature, not of the romantic genre.I have just started reading The Divine Comedy and find it so dense and full of incredible messages that it is almost too much. That is not a complaint, but rather a question to you: how do you propose that one tackles this august work in order to get the most out of it? i want to get closer to Gabriel. Thanks,SR

Sylvain Reynard Dear Marilyn,
Thanks for your question.
You're right - The Divine Comedy is a tricky read, partially because Dante writes about the people he knows and they aren't always known by us.
To start, take a look at UT-Austin's Danteworlds site: http://danteworlds.laits.utexas.edu
Lots of great information here. Also, check out World of Dante: http://www.worldofdante.org
I'd suggest starting at the very beginning and working my way through it, using the resources I've suggested to help interpret it. I think you'll find there's a lot of interesting people and material included in the work. And I hope you enjoy it,
Thanks for reading, SR
