Who is your favorite fictional couple, and why?

Malia Zaidi I debated going with Lizzie Bennet and Mr. Darcy from "Pride and Prejudice", but honestly, I have always thought she was too good for him. So I have to go with Wesley and Buttercup from "The Princess Bride". It's one of my absolute favorite books, and if you've only seen the movie, what are you doing here, get reading! They are a funny couple, who fall in love, become separated, deal with one misunderstanding after another, pirate interventions, a giant, a plan for revenge, an articulate abductor, Rodents Of Unusual Size, six-fingered men, being mostly dead and a prissy prince bent on his achieving will. Definitely a couple that beats the odds and I root for them every time I re-read this treasure of a book.
