Hey Lois. First off, praying that your surgery goes well next month! From all of us I'm sure, please stay safe! My Q is: How do you personally approach poetry? Specifically, how do you translate your experience with poetry into your writing? The 5 Gods stuff is sometimes so stunningly lyrical that I had to wonder. I'm reading Aniara by Harry Martenson and it made me think of the Cetagandans taking art to its limits.

I read a certain amount of poetry in my younger days, some of which sticks with me. I've not read much lately, but I suppose it's in there as an influence underneath somewhere.
We all listen to a lot more poetry daily than we realize, because song lyrics are nothing but that. People who say "poetry doesn't sell" are overlooking the multi-billion-dollar music industry.

A friend (and fellow fan) of mine brought up an interesting thought about the post Cryoburn Miles. If he is now a Count, is he no longer an Imperial Auditor? It seems like that would be a pretty big conflict of interest, or at least appear that way to his peers.

Hi Louis. Typos in Knot of Shadows at page 50 of 111, 44%, when Penric meets Learned Retaka: "Olive Street was marginally less crooked and narrow than its surrounding streets, alleys… passages. The dwellings on this southwest side were much cut-up by time and their residents, many to overcrowded chambers for, if not poor, working men and women and their families." Enjoyed it, as ever. Hope this helps?
